Tim Tebow is single and ready to mingle (for him)
Tim Tebow confirmed during an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” that he is in fact single and revealed what he looks for in an ideal partner.
“Someone I’m extremely attracted to, I think there has to be more there,” the former NFL quarterback told DeGeneres, via NJ.com. “There has to be depth, you know? Obviously you have to have similar beliefs, you have to have chemistry, character, but there has to be more than glitz and glamour.”
Tebow was romantically linked to former Miss USA Olivia Culpo, but if there ever was actually a serious relationship between the two, it fizzled out, reportedly due to Tebow’s strict adherence to abstinence before marriage because of his stringent religious views.
Tebow also throughout his NFL career was romantically linked to some pretty big names from the worlds of show business and sports, including Katy Perry and Lindsey Vonn, although both purported pairings were the product of inaccurate speculation and gossip.
With talk of his romantic life out of the way, the topics Tebow discussed with DeGeneres turned to Super Bowl 50 and his desires at resuming his NFL career.
Regarding who he wants to win between the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos on Sunday, Tebow said it’s difficult to choose because Cam Newton was his backup with the Florida Gators and he of course spent some time with the Broncos, when Tebowing took the world by storm.
“I’m friends with all those guys,” he said. “Peyton [Manning], his career, to be able to see ‘The Sheriff’ finish it off the right way, that’d be pretty fun.”
Concerning any attempt at staging an NFL comeback, the 28-year-old said he’s open to it.
“If I have the right opportunity, obviously I love playing the game so much and I feel like I’m in the best shape of my life,” he said.
