Greg Hardy gives Twitter shout-outs to Dez Bryant, Tony Romo

With his future with the Dallas Cowboys uncertain at best given reports that the team may pass on bringing him back next season after a year of distractions, Greg Hardy took to Twitter Tuesday to show shout-out two of his teammates, Dez Bryant and Tony Romo.

Hardy’s expression of thanks and gratitude to the Cowboys wide receiver came a few days after Bryant expressed support for the talented-but-controversial defensive end on social media.

I’m behind you Big dog…,” Bryant wrote on Instagram. “You are a true talent… Instead.. they try to create trouble instead of paying attention to the struggle… 76 a true beast.”

Bryant also went to bat for Hardy in the media, telling the Sporting News’ Vinnie Iyer he hopes Hardy is back next season.

“You see guys perform at a high level around him, and that’s what he brings to the defense,” he said. “I know I would love to see Greg back with us. He’s a great teammate. I love him. I hope we can get him back.

“Greg Hardy loves the game. Anybody who loves the game, I love him.”

Hardy’s social media shout-out for Romo, meanwhile, may stem from how the Cowboys quarterback expressed support for bringing Hardy into the fold in the first place, saying in April of last year, “I just think that everybody deserves a second chance.”

In any event, the prospects of Hardy returning to the Cowboys likely won’t be hurt by his social media shout-out to two of the team’s leaders, but it probably won’t help, either. The distractions he caused throughout the season may have been more than enough, even for an organization run by Jerry Jones.
