Kristaps Porzingis: ‘Gotta find a little bit of time for the girls, right?’

Kristaps Porzingis has not only taken the NBA by storm due to his solid play on the court during his rookie season with the New York Knicks, he’s also becoming something of a hot commodity and a media sensation off of it.

Case in point: Porzingis is the subject of a Q&A in the recent issue of GQ magazine, in which he discusses how he balances the demands of playing in the NBA with trying to enjoy the many benefits of living life under the bright lights of the big city of New York.

More specifically, the 20-year-old phenom from Latvia addressed his love life. And from the sound of things, it appears he has things figured out … at least to a certain extent.

Asked about whether he’s been doing any dating, Porzingis seemed to indicate not as much as he would prefer.

“No! I mean you always gotta find a little bit of time for the girls, right? But there’s nothing serious really. Nothing too serious,” he said, via the New York Post. “I haven’t been that social yet, and I have been mostly focusing on basketball, but when I have a little more time I might to have to meet some new people.”

Porzingis currently lives with his parents in White Plains, and while those living arrangements have helped him with his eating habits, it probably has cramped his style a bit. But never fear, Porzingis has found a way to work around that potentially awkward situation.

“Yeah, when I feel like it, I have a place in the city that I can escape to,” he said.

Of course he does.

Given how he once said he rocked cornrows as a youngster because “all the girls loved it,” it’s hardly shocking he’s figured out a way to balance living at home with his parents by having a love nest in the city. In a way, he’s like the Don Draper of the Knicks. Or something.
