Ricky Williams delivers great line about marijuana on Twitter
Given his storied history with cannabis, it’s hardly surprising that former NFL running back Ricky Williams seized upon the opportunity to make reference to a recent report on marijuana from The Washington Post by delivering a clever quip on social media.
Reacting to The Post’s report entitled, “Scientists have found that smoking weed does not make you stupid after all,” Williams tweeted out this line:

Far out, Ricky.
In a 2014 USA Today report, Williams discussed his marijuana use during his football career, saying, “It worked for me. It was better for my body. It wasn’t necessarily better for my career.”
He does, however, regret how pot has become the No. 1 issue when people discuss him and his career.
“It’s given me a bit of a reputation that I’ll have to deal with for the next 20 years, until people forget,” he said.
Williams has said that he quit using marijuana once his playing days are over because he used it to relieve pain and stress and now that he doesn’t experience those things anymore, he doesn’t need it. He did say, though, that people offer him pot all the time, and when he refuses, they are disappointed. Of course they are, Williams totally harshed their mellow, man.
But in the end, as he wrote in his tweet, he knew it all along.
