Tom Brady won’t bite when asked about ‘CryBrady’ headline
Tom Brady has been through just about everything in his NFL career, so he isn’t about to let a New York tabloid’s mocking back page portraying him as a diapered baby phase him at this point.
The New York Daily News was among the Big Apple’s dailies to post comical imagery portraying the New England Patriots quarterback as a crying infant after Denver Broncos players slammed him by suggesting he was a crybaby who whines for calls, among other damning allegations.
Brady was quizzed by the media about the unflattering artwork that appeared in the Daily News as well as the New York Post. To no surprise, the savvy signal-caller didn’t bite, specifically regarding the NYDN’s headline, “CryBrady” that featured him wearing a diaper.
“No, I haven’t seen any,” Brady said Wednesday with a grin when the back page image and headline was subtly brought up.
That means he hasn’t seen the New York Post’s “Tom Baby” cover, either, presumably.
Brady was asked earlier in the presser about the accusations that he complains and begs officials for flags.
“I’m not sure. I’m not sure what the other quarterbacks do,” he said. “If the refs want to throw the flag, I love when they throw the flags on the defenders, absolutely. It advances our team. So that’s just part of football.”
While hilarious and snarky — as the New York dailies are wont to do — it looks like Brady isn’t going to fazed by such shenanigans heading into Sunday’s AFC Championship Game. Hardly shocking.
