Cam Newton hangs with Stephen Curry after Warriors game (pic)
Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton took some time away from preparing for Sunday’s showdown with the New Orleans Saints to take in some NBA action at Time Warner Arena as Stephen Curry and the undefeated Golden State Warriors paid a visit to the hometown Charlotte Hornets. Teammates Joe Webb, Derek Anderson Thomas Davis and Jonathan Stewart also were in attendance.
Curry is a longtime Panthers backer after growing up in the Charlotte area while his father Dell starred for the Hornets, frequently affiliates himself with the team on social media and the like and claims Newton as one of his pals.
Before the Warriors took its record to 20-0 by taking down the Hornets by a score of 116-99 in a game in which Curry put on another sublime performance (40 points on 14-of-18 shooting from the field, 8-for-11 from three-point land), the sharpshooter said he believes the Warriors will lose a game before the similarly undefeated 11-0 Panthers. Further, he said it would be fine if neither team lost until sometime into the month of February.
“So that means the Panthers get their Super Bowl win,” he said.
The two pals had a chance to connect after the game.

If everything goes as Curry hopes, the two might be able to touch base once again at Super Bowl 50, which conveniently will be played on Feb. 7 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., not far from the Warriors home base.
