Marshawn Lynch, Starbucks introduce Beast Mode Frappuccino (pics)
Marshawn Lynch and Starbucks have rolled out a new drink that celebrates the Seattle Seahawks running back’s nickname and identity.
Named, fittingly, the Beast Mode Frappuccino, the drink is described as follows:
The new blended beverage, as unique as its creator, is a double mocha Frappuccino with a hint of mint and cream and just enough protein powder to unleash your inner Beast Mode. It’s topped with whipped cream, then finished with a purple berry drizzle and a sprinkle of matcha.
“I’m all ‘bout that,” Lynch said of the recipe.
Lynch evidently also enjoyed tasting the beverage.
“I’d drink this before a workout,” he said while donning a Starbucks patented green apron at the company headquarters’ test lab. “You could get your buff on with this.”
A distinctly Beast Mode-like assessment of the coffee-based concoction.
The partnership between Lynch and Starbucks — two names synonymous with Seattle — was done in part to raise funds for the running back’s Fam 1st Family Foundation.
“For every Beast Mode™ Frappuccino® blended beverage sold throughout the football season in Washington and Oakland, Starbucks will donate 24 cents – which coincides with Lynch’s number – to the Fam 1st Family Foundation, up to $100,000. Starbucks will kick off the new collaboration and beverage with a minimum $24,000 contribution to the foundation.,” the company’s release reads.
A brilliant partnership made better as it benefits a worthy cause. But here’s the big question: Why doesn’t the drink have any Skittles in it? Given Lynch’s fondness for that particular brand of candy, it sure seems like a no-brainer, right?
