Carmelo Anthony back to bickering with critics on social media

Carmelo Anthony again made the decision to engage a critic on social media, this time to question the intelligence of an inquiry regarding the New York Knicks star possibly diminishing skills on the court.

The latest social media outburst occurred on Instagram when a user who goes by the moniker “freemangfx” mused if Anthony should still be considered among the best players in the NBA, to which Anthony replied, “That might be the dumbest answer ever asked.”

Whether or not Anthony should still be considered an elite player arguably warrants debate — although it’s likely he deservedly merits being considered among the upper echelon of NBA players — but it’s hardly surprising that Anthony feels it’s ridiculous to think otherwise. What is surprising, though, is that he actually took the time to call someone out on Instagram over the inquiry.

As noted, Anthony seems to be making a habit out of poring over comments about him on social media to make sure nothing untoward is being written about him. The superstar in August took issue with a New York Knicks fan’s comment on an Instagram post he issued, in which he or she indicated they had “lost respect” for “how little” he cared for the game.

Anthony wasn’t about to let the comment slide.

“Shows how little you know about me,” he wrote. “Staying in NY shows that I do care. If I would have left, what would you have said then? ‘Oh, Melos wack for leaving. He turned his back on NY’. FOH. You are stuck with me buddy. Deal with it. If you want me gone, I’ll personally walk you into the front office so you can plead your case of the Knicks trading me. Hope you have bail money bc they might have you arrested for Disturbing the Peace.”

So, to anyone out there thinking about calling out Carmelo on social media: Be careful. He might just read it. But the neat part arguably is he just might respond to any unflattering comments.

But that’s just Me7o being Me7o, apparently.
