Bill Murray, Yankees affiliate give fan car with 285K miles on it (pics)

Actor and all-around cultural icon Bill Murray, along with the Charleston RiverDogs — a New York Yankees’ Single-A affiliate — gave one “lucky” fan an automobile with 285,000 miles on it in a promotion tied to an attendance milestone.

Murray, who serves as co-owner of the RiverDogs and is listed as the team’s “Director of Fun,” was on hand to award the high-mileage vehicle to a fan named Kyle¬†Busbee, a Citadel cadet, after he won the raffle. The 285K mileage mark was a part of the ball club celebrating reaching the 285,000-fan attendance mark this season.

Murray and minor league baseball have shared a long and storied history. The actor also counts himself as part-owner of the St. Paul Saints, a Minnesota independent league team. From time to time, Murray will show up at Saints game to do Bill Murray-like things, which of course is to be expected.
