Dodgers’ Enrique Hernandez rips Kelly Osbourne for Donald Trump talk
Donald Trump somehow keeps managing to make presence felt on the sports media landscape, even when his antics have absolutely nothing to do with sports. This time, it involves Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Enrique Hernandez firing a shot at Kelly Osbourne on Twitter over comments she made on social media about something Trump said about immigrants from Mexico.
The billionaire Republican presidential candidate of course caused a media firestorm when he infamously opined that Mexicans crossing the U.S. border are “bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”
Trump has been roundly criticized for his commentary and Osbourne took him to task as well, albeit by making insensitive comments of her own during a co-hosting appearance on “The View” earlier this week.
“If you kick every Latino out of this country then who is going to be cleaning your toilets, Donald Trump?” Osbourne asked, causing herself to be condemned over a comment with which she intended to condemn Trump.
Hernandez clearly caught wind of Osbourne’s ill-conceived commentary and offered up a tweet on Tuesday that called her out quite brilliantly.
“Heading to the stadium early so that I can clean the toilets in the clubhouse! Right?” Hernandez tweeted, directing his message to Osbourne’s Twitter handle.
In baseball terms, Hernandez’s blistering social media blast is the equivalent of hitting a walk-off homer.
