New Blue Jay David Price got a flat tire on his way to Toronto

David Price’s start with a new team after being dealt by the Detroit Tigers to the Toronto Blue Jays this week couldn’t have gotten off to a more inauspicious start after the pitcher apparently suffered a flat tire on his way to his new home.

Price alerted the masses of his trip to Toronto being sidetracked in a series of tweets on Friday morning.

“Sweet tire blew out on my way to the six… ,” Price wrote, “waiting on #AAA with bubble guts is always fun!! To trust or not to trust?!”

Price even incorporated the nickname Drake is trying to force upon Toronto by referencing “The Six” in his tweet, likely ingratiating himself to his new legions of fans in one fell swoop.

The “bubble guts” reference, on the other hand, apparently indicates that Price is experiencing some … gastrointestinal distress.

Almost an hour later, Price still found himself stranded on the side of the road somewhere.

“Uncccllleeeeee…” Price tweeted, “no one has tires to fit the back of my car so my presence in the 6 is gonna be delayed another couple hours…unreal!”

The Blue Jays announced that Price will be formally introduced during a press conference Friday afternoon. The pitcher is also expected to be in uniform for the team’s game against the Kansas City Royals at the Rogers Centre as well … if he ever makes it to Toronto, that is.
