LeSean McCoy: Canceled ‘females only’ shindig ‘was no weird orgy thing’

LeSean McCoy on Friday met with the media at training camp and of course the hot topic of discussion revolved around the Buffalo Bills running back’s much ballyhooed private party that was the source of comical controversy last week.

McCoy’s original post on Instagram announcing the “females only” party upset the Bills and the NFL due to the use of the team’s logo, prompting him to take it down. But the party was seemingly still a go for some time, but McCoy said he actually canceled the event due to the controversy.

Then, after first apologizing for his Instagram post, the running back insisted to reporters that the festivities wasn’t exactly the raunchy spectacle that many assumed.

“I should have never posted it and I take blame for it,” McCoy said, according to ESPN’s Mike Rodak. “But for the record, it was no weird orgy thing going on.”

Maybe so, but whatever was potentially going to happen behind closed doors required potential party goers to submit the following form:

When asked about the confidentiality agreement requirement, McCoy reportedly stated he had answered enough questions on the topic.

He nevertheless defended his decision to try and throw a great party.

“I felt like it was like a thing I do every year with teammates. It’s something I bring together with teammates, but I didn’t do it this year,” he said. “It got too wild. I should never have posted it and I take blame for it.

Adding some much-needed levity to the controversy, Bills head coach Rex Ryan, as his usual joking self, commented about how he apparently was deemed a persona non grata at McCoy’s party.

“I did not get an invite,” Ryan quipped. “I’m a little disappointed about that. But maybe next year.”

Next year, indeed. McCoy even commented on how his new head coach perceived the non-invite as a slight.

“He was pissed off that I didn’t invite him. He gave like a whole speech for about two hours,” McCoy said. ‘You gotta be about the team! If one guy has women, we all need women.’ Nah, I’m joking. He didn’t say that. He didn’t really talk about it.”
