Gilbert Arenas wasn’t banned from Orange County Fair after all

Gilbert Arenas managed to get his name back in the news this week after he posted an image of himself surrounded by an insane haul of country fair fare he won by dominating a carnival basketball game. The former NBA star claimed in the caption of the Instagram post that he was banned from the Orange County Fair because of his shooting prowess, but it turns out that is not the case.

An Orange County Fair representative told KABC that Arenas is not banned and that he is more than welcome to return at any time. The spokesperson added that fair policy is that a person is allowed to win one prize per day while playing one of the 15 basketball games and that Arenas simply reached his limit by winning a prize at every stop.

The clarification obviously is a far different take than what Arenas stated on social media regarding what transpired after his carnival game dominance.

“We just got banned from all the basketball hoops at #orangecountyfair,” wrote Arenas on Instagram. “Every one screamed #theRimsarebent I screamed #hibachi…#ArenasFamily #CountyFairRockstars”

Hibachi, indeed.

In any event, it’s good to know that Arenas can pay another visit to the Orange County Fair if he chooses. But carnies beware: He’ll probably be coming after your precious stuffed animals.
