Dwyane Wade crashes HS graduation thanks to social media campaign (pic)
Dwyane Wade on Thursday made an appearance at a high school graduation in South Florida in response to a persistent social media campaign that had its beginnings nearly one year ago.
The campaign, started last summer by Negeen Fallahzedeh, a now-graduating senior at Western High School, revolved around the hashtag, #WadetoWestern. It obviously paid off, as the Miami Heat superstar was on-hand for the ceremony, even taking a selfie with Fallahzedeh on stage, which he later posted to his Instagram account.
“Dreams do come true…” Wade wrote in his post. “#WadetoWestern was a hastag that this young lady Negeen’s started last July to get me to come to her graduation..and BOOM we just did that.. @wadesworldfdn #AllergictoNo”
Video was later posted to Twitter showing Wade and Fallahzedeh having a hug onstage.

The school’s principal added a few photos to the outpouring of excitement on social media about Wade’s appearance.

Wade’s future in Florida with the Heat, however, appears uncertain at best. He has indicated he wants a raise and is prepared to use an opt-out clause in his contract to effectuate it.
But on Thursday, none of that mattered, as Wade made a bunch of young adults’ graduation ceremony, an already-significant moment in their lives, that much more memorable.

Great stuff.
