Rumored Nik Stauskas-Taylor Anderson breakup ruins school’s prom night?
Rumors are swirling that Sacramento Kings rookie Nik Stauskas and Taylor Anderson have broken up. While the news may be devastating in its own right — not really — one high school senior is watching his fanciful prom plans go down the drain.
Anderson apparently agreed to be the prom date for Jamie Guerra, a senior at Detroit-area Deephaven High School as a result of a Twitter bet/dare between herself and Stauskas. The plan was for both the NBA player and his gal pal to attend the school’s dance, which is scheduled for Thursday.
According to the school’s principal, Matthew Czajkowski, Guerra had a chat on social media with Stauskas that left all signs pointing towards his dream date with the attractive young lady is not to be.
“It doesn’t look good,” Czajkowski said, via a News Herald report.
Neither Stauskas nor Anderson have confirmed the breakup, but a New York Post report notes that Anderson has been issuing cryptic social media messages that certainly indicate it may be the case.
While both parties may be feeling the sting of the breakup at the moment — if in fact the couple has split — let’s remember the collateral damage it has done and how a prom for one kid and his fellow classmates will be much less star-studded and perhaps not quite as epic as originally expected. It will sure make dancing to Fun’s “We are Young” (or whatever they’re playing for the kids at dances these days) much less, you know, fun.
