The Cleveland Cavaliers are on the cusp of competing for a title in what hopefully will be a thrilling NBA Finals showdown with the Golden State Warriors, a series that begins Thursday.

One obviously die-hard Cavs fan is unwilling to wait for the actual outcome of the Finals before announcing to the world via ink that he believes it’s all but certain the NBA squad from Cleveland will soon be celebrating championship glory.

Meet Lonynell Coleman, an ardent — and confident — Cavaliers fan who is so certain the team will be hoisting the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy in the weeks ahead that he got a tattoo that features the Cavaliers’ “C” logo serving as a backdrop to said trophy along with the words, “2015 NBA Champs.”

“I was like look, if the Cavs get to the finals, I’m getting a tattoo before, before they win and it’s gonna happen,” Coleman told 19-Action News. “They say we’re cursed? I’m gonna reverse it.”

Quite the bold statement, to be sure. Whether or not his inked prediction comes to fruition, however … well, as the saying goes, that’s why the play the games.

The news that some fan somewhere has prematurely gotten a tattoo proclaiming an assumed championship triumph for their favorite team ahead of said team actually winning anything practically is old hat at this point. But it nevertheless remains a compelling aside that documents just how far some fans are willing to go to demonstrate their fervent support for their beloved squad.

And yet, to do so is rife with risk. As noted previously, it is hopeful that this guy and this guy and this guy and this guy and this guy have some kind of contingency plan in place, as their respective boastful tattoo predictions didn’t pan out for them, either.

After all, rarely does it happen that folks who get title tattoos make out like this Seahawks fan. This Washington Nationals fan, however, still has hope.

But hey, at least this Cubs fan had the good sense to leave his predictive championship tattoo some wiggle room.
