Tom Brady jersey sales doubled after announcement of suspension
While his likeability among fans taking a significant nosedive since the Deflategate controversy exploded and have continued to plummet since the release of the Wells Report, Tom Brady’s very loyal fans are snatching up his gear at an increasingly alarming rate.
Sports apparel site Fanatics.com revealed, per a Time report filed Tuesday, that Brady-related gear sales on the site doubled the day following the announcement of his suspension. Brady on Tuesday sat at No. 3 on the site in jersey sales with the top-selling jerseys on the site on Tuesday were Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston, which arguably is influenced by the fact that a Mariota-Titans jersey and a Winston-Buccaneers jersey only recently became available.
Before his suspension was announced Brady boasted the sixth-most gear sold on the site.
It is further noted that Fanatics.com reported that the jump in sales of Brady gear limited to the New England area, as fans in 22 states have purchased items related to the Patriots quarterback, with Massachusetts (of course), Florida, California, Washington, and Michigan registering the most sales.
In other Tom Brady jersey-related news, it appears that NFL Shop’s online site has wised up and now is preventing wisenheimers from snarkily customizing Brady jerseys, something that was still possible earlier this week.
