Mark Sanchez, Connor Barwin visit Amtrak crash victims, hospital staff (pics)

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Mark Sanchez and linebacker Connor Barwin dropped by Temple University Hospital on Wednesday to visit with victims of Tuesday’s tragic derailment of Amtrak Northeast Regional Train 188, per a CSN Philly report.

The hospital is one of four area hospitals that treated victims of the crash, an accident that left eight people dead and over 200 injured according to current estimates.

Sanchez and Barwin reportedly handed out coffee and donuts to staff and victims during their unannounced visit, and later posed for photographs with hospital staff, many of which were posted to social media by the workers and later disseminated on Twitter and Instagram.

Nice work, fellas. While coffee and donuts and a visit by two pro athletes isn’t much in the grand scheme of things, little gestures of goodwill and support can go a long way in brightening the spirits of both the victims of the tragedy as well as the hospital staff working effortlessly to provide care, treatment and support to those affected by the horrible derailment, one that currently remains under investigation.
