Out-of-work Brian Wilson takes part in George Lopez’s charity golf tourney (pic)
Brian Wilson, one of the most eccentric baseball players ever to put on a pair of cleats, has been out of work since the Los Angeles Dodgers designated him for assignment last December, eating $9.5 million of his salary in the process.
Wilson currently remains on the free agent market — perhaps surprisingly so — and spent at least a few some of his abundant free time taking part in the 8th Annual George Lopez Celebrity Golf Classic this week.
In fact, Wilson was part of a so-called “Dream Team” during the charity golf event that featured such luminaries of stage and sport as Lee Trevino, Lopez himself and … Joe Pesci?

Wow, one can only imagine what kind of conversations that fearsome foursome engaged in while on the course.
In any event, how nice is it to know that Wilson is still rocking his infamous beard? There’s something … reassuring about it.
Charity golf tournaments aren’t the the only thing occupying Wilson’s time over these past few months, either. He spent some of his downtime participating in a live reading of “Major League” in April … portraying Ricky “Wild Thing” Vaughn. Fitting, indeed.
