Dez Bryant calls woman ‘fat girl’ for calling him ‘corny’ during Twitter feud

Dez Bryant’s reputation as a hothead on the field — as well as the sidelines – obviously precedes him. But who knew the Dallas Cowboys wide receiver could be provoked into needless name-calling by a seemingly innocuous dig on Twitter?

That certainly was the case on Thursday night when Bryant, no stranger to social media oddities, took offense to a Twitter user referring to him as “corny” after he made the following comment after the Cowboys selected UConn cornerback Byron Jones with the 27th pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.

A woman — whose tweets are now understandably protected — thought Bryant’s comments was a bit amusing, so she offered up the following observation.

Bryant didn’t take too kindly to someone calling him out for being purportedly corny, but cooler heads prevailed and he did the sensible thing and let it slide. No, he didn’t. Not by a long shot.

And then the ridiculous Twitter feud commenced, with Bryant continuing to play the role of provocateur.

And then things continued to escalate (screengrab via Bleacher Report):

There were a few other exchanges between Bryant and other Twitter users, but the above tweets are enough to get the gist of what went down.

Bryant obviously has every right to defend himself when criticized, but he went way overboard with his reaction to being called “corny” and also crossed the line by referring to the woman as a “fat girl.”

Bryant has made it abundantly clear on more than one occasion he cares little about what other people think of him, but for him to conduct himself in such a manner over such a silly tweet from a follower is just plain ridiculous.

Poor form.
