Reporter to Kyrie Irving: How much fun is it to watch Kevin Love stroke it (video)

The Cleveland Cavaliers have pushed the Boston Celtics to the brink of elimination with Thursday night’s 103-95 victory at TD Garden to take a three-games-to-none lead in the first-round series.

The Cavs’ “Big Three” all contributed to the big victory, with LeBron James scoring game-high 31 points and Kyrie Irving adding 13 points and six assists. But the game from Kevin Love put Cleveland over the top. The power forward scored 23 points on 8-for-16 shooting, including 6-of-10 from beyond the arc.

Irving was conducting an on-court, postgame interview with newsnet 5 Cleveland’s Mike Cairns when he was asked a question about Love’s shooting prowess that would have been innocuous at best if it wasn’t for how poorly it was phrased by the newsman.

Cairns asked Irving: “How much fun to sit back and watch that guy just stroke it?”

Fantastic. The point guard deserves credit for being able to rise above and avoid making a sophomoric crack about the way the question was awkwardly posed, but there was a split-second where Irving appears to contemplate busting out laughing before composing himself.

It’s almost like in that one moment you can imagine Irving transforming like a character in one of those Frosted Mini-Wheats commercials where they change from an adult to an effusive child.

“The grown-up in me knows I should simply answer the question … but the kid in me wants to laugh away in pure, immature, adolescent-like glee!”

Something like that.
