Indianapolis Colts roll out ‘Whiteout’ uniforms for April Fools’ Day (pics)

While this won’t be the first April Fools’ Day-related shenanigans pulled by a team or athlete on Wednesday, the Indianapolis Colts deserve a huge amount of credit for pulling out all the stops and upping the production value while executing their festive prank.

The Colts alerted followers on Twitter that the team would be introducing “Whiteout” uniforms in the upcoming season. And by “Whiteout,” the team really delivered: Everything is white on the unis, all the way down to the numbers on the jersey.

A series of posts on Twitter helped pull off the prank.

The team enlisted the services of tight end Dwayne Allen to help perpetrate the team’s April Fools’ Day silliness.

“From a strategic, football standpoint, how can they scout us?” Allen says in the video, via Pro Football Talk.  “They can’t see our numbers.”

Indeed. Well played, Colts. Between the team’s antics and Tom Brady’s fantastic Photoshop, Wednesday is shaping up for an amusing day of chicanery from a contingent of wisenheimers trying to lighten the mood for the usually humorless National Football League.
