Fans beg LeBron James to return to Miami at Heat-Cavaliers game (pics)
LeBron James made his second trip of the season to South Beach for a showdown between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Miami Heat at AmericanAirlines Arena.
Such as was the case during his first trip back to play his former team on Christmas Day, James received a mostly friendly reception from Heat fans, although there were a smattering of boos sprinkled in here and there throughout the game.
Some fans, though, chose to articulate their feelings about James by going beyond mere vocalizations of support or expressions of bitterness by bringing signs into the game begging the King to return to Miami.
It’s hard to blame Heat fans for expressions of wishful thinking regarding James’ potential return to Miami, but given how well things are clicking in Cleveland now — despite the surprising 106-92 setback at the hands of the Heat Monday night — the odds arguably are slimmer that James now longingly views an eventual return to the Heat … at least when compared to how me made of felt when the Cavaliers were struggling and going through their early season doldrums.
Furthermore, regarding one of the signs, James returned “home” when he decided to rejoin the Cavaliers. A return to Miami, on the other hand, while being a homecoming of sorts, wouldn’t be quite the same.
