Michelle Wie warns of potential zombie apocalypse in next 12 months (video)

Michelle Wie has long been the darling of women’s golf ever since she was a child prodigy and her breakthrough win at the 2014 U.S. Open proved that she may have finally realized her vast potential.

But when it comes right down to it, Wie understands that the enjoyment of her emergence as one of the best players in women’s golf may be short-lived. Not because of injury, slumps or lack of interest. In fact, the way Wie sees it, it’s entirely likely that much more pressing issues may face humanity outside of seemingly trivial discussions regarding her place in women’s golf. And it all comes down to two words:

Zombie. Apocalypse.

Wie over the weekend did an interview with Golfing World during which she expanded upon previous comments she made about her love for zombie movies by indicating the walking dead one day may be much more than fodder cheap thrills on the big screen. Because, you see, a zombie apocalypse very well could be in the offing … in as soon as within the next 12 months.

“I think it’s very important to tune up your zombie survival skills because you never know,” said Wie, via Eye on Golf. “There may be zombies in 12 months. It could be an epidemic, you never know. You just have to be ready.”

Truer words have never been spoken. Okay, truer words have been spoken, but let’s not rule out any possibility. Heed Michelle Wie’s warning, people. Get ready before it’s too late.

Perhaps Wie simply is having some fun and joking around … but are you willing to take that risk? Think about it.
