Guy in dunk contest attempts slam blindfolded, whiffs terribly (video)
Uh, derp. Justin Melton’s comically inept attempt at putting one through the hoop while blindfolded during a Philippine Basketball Association Slam Dunk contest arguably is the worst dunk effort in slam dunk contest history. It really needs to be seen to be believed. Fortunately for Melton, the blindfold meant he didn’t have to witness it firsthand.
Melton, who apparently won the league’s dunk contest last year, utilized the jersey of one of his teammates to serve as a makeshift blindfold … and things went quickly downhill from there.
Watch as Melton takes the ball, approaches the rim and leaps … and lands … several feet short of the hoop. He wasn’t even close.

Awful. Just awful. But hilarious.
An interesting side note about the Philippine Basketball Association: The teams have some absurdly strange names. To wit, from Melton’s Wikipedia bio: he “is a Filipino-American professional basketball player currently playing for the Purefoods Star Hotshots in the Philippine Basketball Association. He was drafted 13th overall by the San Mig Coffee Mixers in the 2013 PBA draft.”
Purefoods Star Hotshots? San Mig Coffee Mixers? What the heck?
