LeGarrette Blount defends ‘Bitch Mode’ shirt, praises Marshawn Lynch (photo)

LeGarrette Blount certainly appeared to be taking a pretty frontal shot at Marshawn Lynch during the New England Patriots’ Super Bowl victory parade on Wednesday. But to hear it from the Pats running back, he has nothing but respect for Lynch, despite proudly holding up a shirt featuring a not-so-flattering take on the Seattle Seahawks running back’s popular slogan.

Photos surfaced on social media from the parade showing Blount displaying a shirt that read, “Bitch Mode,” a vulgar take of Lynch’s “Beast Mode” slogan.

Once photographic evidence of the perceived slam on Lynch began to go viral, Blount took to Twitter in an attempt to clarify his true feelings regarding his fellow running back.

While some may argue that Blount’s tweet doesn’t jibe with the shirt he displayed, odds are he simply was caught up in the moment while enjoying the revelry and no offense was intended.

Despite the possible unintended consequences, not only did Lynch’s fans take offense to the shirt, members of the Seattle Seahawks also criticized Blount, including linebacker Bruce Irvin.

Irvin was ejected from Super Bowl XLIX after being involved in the scrum that followed Malcolm Butler’s game-clinching interception.

Blount wasn’t the only member of the Patriots to display the “Bitch Mode” shirt. Fellow Patriots running back Brandon Bolden also got his hands on one.

Given Blount took the time to profess his admiration for the Seahawks running back, chances are good that Lynch won’t be taking any offense to the shirt. And if he was offended, it’s not like he’s going to say anything to the media about it.
