Tom Brady caps Super Bowl win with Photoshop of himself as Katy Perry (pic)

There isn’t much that hasn’t been said about Tom Brady in the wake of him leading the New England Patriots from 10 points down in the fourth quarter to a dramatic 28-24 victory in Super Bowl XLIX.

Sure, the Seattle Seahawks certainly helped things along with a boneheaded decision to pass the ball from just outside the end zone in the waning moments of the game, a play call that will go down in Super Bowl history as one of the biggest all-time clusterbangs ever. But without Brady overcoming two interceptions on the way to a 37-for-50 passing performance for 328 yards and four touchdowns, the Patriots never would have been in position to steal the game in the first place.

Much as he has done throughout the season, Brady showcased how he is as adept at social media chicanery as he is in demonstrations of gridiron greatness. The Super Bowl XLIX MVP showcased virtuoso Facebook performance, as he is wont do, courtesy of an ingenious Photoshop he posted to his official page.

Yep, that’s Brady as Katy Perry during the pop siren’s phenomenal halftime performance.”#reachforthestars,” Brady writes on Facebook for the caption accompanying the Photoshop. Indeed.

Perry of course concluded her show by leaving the stage on a shooting star, which in a way is exactly how the Patriots quarterback shuffled of the field after ending the game with his team in the victory formation. To paraphrase Perry’s song that closed the show, Brady is indeed a firework. Or something. Sure, being referred to as a dancing shark would have been more complimentary — and apropos — but there you go.
