Fire alarm goes off at Patriots’ hotel for second time in three nights

By Jason Rowan

NFL Media’s Kimberly Jones reported on Twitter that for second time in three days, the fire alarm at the New England Patriots’ team hotel sounded in the middle of the night.

The most recent interruption of Patriots players’ rest reportedly came at approximately 5 a.m. local time early Thursday morning, according to an report.

There has been no explanation provided as yet regarding how or why the fire alarms keep going off, but hotel staff did refer to the first time the alarms sounded early Tuesday morning as an “anomaly.” No statement has been made by the hotel as of yet that addresses the most recent incident.’s Jeff Darlington characterized the first false fire alarm at approximately 1:30 a.m. Tuesday morning involved a “piercing” sound that was “annoying” and lasted “maybe 10 minutes.” It’s reasonable to assume Tuesday morning’s event was similar in nature. Rob Gronkowski, the “baller” that he is, insists Tuesday morning’s fire alarm didn’t even rouse him from his slumber.

As was the case with Tuesday’s incident, the hotel actually was not on fire, which of course is the most positive aspect of this sordid siren saga.

Thus far, no satisfactory explanation has been provided for how such an incident could have occurred twice in such a short amount of time. Nor has anyone — say, some crafty cabal of Seahawks-loving, pranksters, for instance —  taken responsibility for the sounding of either false fire alarms.

No matter the cause, the Patriots likely will be able to successfully navigate through this latest nighttime nuisance.
