Bryce Harper dropped by ‘Modern Family’ set, took photos with show’s stars (pics)
It’s unknown at this exactly why, but Washington Nationals superstar Bryce Harper on Wednesday dropped by the set of the multiple-Emmy Award-winning series, “Modern Family.”
Harper’s presence on the set was first tipped off by Julie Bowen, who plays Claire Dunphy on the ABC hit comedy, who tweeted a photo of herself and fellow cast member Ty Burrell (who portrays Bowen’s on-screen husband Phil Dunphy) posing alongside the young MLB phenom.
“Bryce Harper visited MF today…” Bowen wrote. “I don’t hate my job.”
Harper later posted some photographs himself to his Instagram account, featuring photos of himself alongside Sarah Hyland (Haley Dunphy) as well as fellow young stars Ariel Winter (Alex Dunphy) and Nolan Gould (Luke Dunphy), making the photo-ops an all-Dunphy event.
“Had a great time at MF today,” Harper wrote of the set visit. “Such a great show and just a even better crew of people! Thank you for having me out today..”
It’s unlikely that Harper popping in on the actors on the set was some random event or pure happenstance. Expect to see a cameo from the Nationals star in an upcoming episode.
It wouldn’t be the first time a big-time professional athlete has made an appearance on the show. Kobe Bryant had a cameo in the episode, “Family Portrait,” the show’s Season One finale, during which Phil Dunphy and the Los Angeles Lakers superstar have an awkward exchange at the Staples Center.
