Steve Smith considering taking up hockey during the offseason, apparently (pic)
Steve Smith, given his intense, sometimes uncontrollable, competitive nature, likely is still steaming over the Baltimore Ravens getting eliminated from the postseason in a divisional round thriller with the New England Patriots. The emotional wide receiver, always good for a quote, some smack talk antics or entertaining shenanigans, arguably is owner of one of the meanest streaks in the NFL, so his offseason plans may be a perfect fit for his fiery temperament.
That’s right, Smith insinuated in a post to Instagram that he is considering getting into hockey to kill some time before minicamps, organized team activities and the other assorted activities related to the NFL’s offseason begin again.
“Since I have all this extra time guess I’ll try hockey!!! I can’t help it I’m a fool,” Smith wrote on Instagram, adding several hashtags including one alluding to his trademark phrase, “Ice Up Son,” which is perfectly fitting given his apparent interest in hockey.
It goes without saying that Smith would be one of the last dudes with which a guy would want to get into a corner battle for the puck during a rec league game, let alone a bout of on-ice fisticuffs.
