Recruit CeCe Jefferson: Nick Saban dined on gator tail during visit
When it comes to ingratiating himself to highly coveted recruit, Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban apparently is willing to lay it all on the line, up to and including feasting upon relatively unconventional menu items.
CeCe Jefferson, a highly touted defensive end out of Glen Saint Mary, Fla., claims that Saban dined upon alligator tail during an in-house recruiting visit with Jefferson and his family.
Jefferson took to Twitter to make note of the interesting dinner, claiming that Saban actually enjoyed the unique protein.
Cant believe coach Saban never had gator tail before lol he loved it!

Given that the Florida Gators are high on Jefferson’s list of potential schools, the choice of entree certainly is a curious coincidence.

Jefferson has visited Alabama on two occasions, officially on Oct. 17 and unofficially on Nov. 17. While the 6-foot-2, 250-pound senior has yet to pay an official visit to the University of Florida — although he unofficially visited UF on both Sept. 13 and Nov. 22 — the prediction on 247Sports indicates the Gators have a 91% chance of landing the coveted recruit, ranked fifth-overall by the recruiting site.
The inclusion of gator tail on the dinner menu may have been a coincidence, but the irony certainly should not be lost on anyone. It probably wasn’t on Saban, that’s for sure.
