Mark Sanchez samples cheesesteaks after shredding Panthers in Eagles win (pics/vid)

Mark Sanchez’s transformation from has-been backup quarterback to Philadelphia hero and possible season saver for the Eagles took less than two games. The quarterback sealed the deal by visiting two renowned cheesesteak joints following his solid performance in Philly’s 45-21 takedown of the Carolina Panthers.

Coming off a great game in which he went 20-37 passing for 332 yards and two touchdowns, Sanchez popped in to both Pat’s and Geno’s, legendary locales that have provided locals with scrumptious fare for years, and sampled each joint’s cheesesteak while fraternizing with fans.

Philly’s Action News was on the scene.

“We’re out here waiting for Mark Sanchez,” said fan Joshua Molyneux before the QB arrived.

They came from around the city – and some from South Jersey – for cheesesteaks and hoping for a Sanchez sighting.

“I don’t care if he’s going to Geno’s or Pat’s,” said fan Paul LaCroix. “Get him down here.”

He was welcomed here by one fan with some cheese fries.

“I want you to have my cheese fries,” said the fan, offering the fries to Sanchez as he arrived.

“Thanks, brother,” the QB replied.

After selfies, salutations, and one cheesesteak each from Geno’s and Pat’s, Sanchez left with a full stomach.

Sounds like a grand time was had by one and all. Between his big win in relief of an injured Nick Foles last week and Monday night’s thorough dismantling of the Panthers, things are looking good for not only the Eagles, but also its much maligned quarterback.

Everything’s coming up Sanchez!
