Bills corner Leodis McKelvin on Dolphins: ‘S—, we’re going to go out and beat that ass’
The Buffalo Bills came up short on Sunday in its pursuit of a three-game winning streak, losing to the Kansas City Chiefs by a score of 17-13. Cornerback Leodis McKelvin clearly believes the loss was an aberration and not a developing trend, as clearly evidenced by his profane proclamation of overconfident bravado following the game.
The Bills may be facing a short week with a Thursday night divisional showdown with the Miami Dolphins (who also played Sunday), but that doesn’t appear to have had any impact on McKelvin’s outlook on how the game will go.
“S—, we’re going to go out and beat that ass. Point blank. Period,” McKelvin said to the media after the game, per an ESPN report.
Quite the bold statement.
McKelvin wasn’t finished dropping some profanity in his post-game comments, either. The cornerback ineloquently addressed a fumble he had on a punt return, a turnover the Chiefs turned into a touchdown two plays later.
“S— happens,” McKelvin said, still working blue and apparently without a filter. “If you f— up on any kind of thing you’ve got going on … this is my job. It’s my job. I take this s— to heart.”
The Bills and Dolphins are sitting at 5-4, two games back of AFC East division leader New England Patriots (7-2). Both teams are coming off disappointing losses on Sunday, with Miami going down 20-13 to the Detroit Lions. Whichever team wins the prime time match-up at least will remain relevant in AFC Wild Card talk as both squads try to keep pace with the surging Patriots, who are coming off their bye week and have a Sunday night showdown with the Indianapolis Colts.
It should be a tough road game at Sun Life Stadium for the Bills, but to hear it from McKelvin, the outcome of the game already is a foregone conclusion.
