Ricky Rubio has great reaction to cliché comment by Nikola Pekovic after win (video)

The Minnesota Timberwolves evened its season record at 2-2 courtesy of an up-and-down, back-and-forth 98-91 win over the Brooklyn Nets.

A 9-0 run to close out the game sealed the deal for the T’Wolves, and the two main stars in the clutch were precocious point guard Ricky Rubio and hulking center Nikola Pekovic.

Both Rubio (14 points, 12 assists 8 rebounds) and Pekovic (16 points, 11 rebounds) finished with strong stat lines, but it was their play down the stretch that made all the difference.

Discussing the road win in the locker room after the game, Pekovic busted out the overused cliché that the team would move on from the win and look ahead and prepare for its next game against the Orlando Magic on Friday.

Rubio, seated nearby, looked up with a priceless quizzical look at Pekovic’s comment.

Ha. Rubio was all, “Say whaaaat???” The point guard even replied on social media about his perplexed reaction:

Pekovic is always good to go with an odd quote, but rarely does it evoke such an awesome reaction from a teammate, especially one that was more cliché than strange.

To wit, here’s what Pek had to say about his all-around solid game against Nets big man Brook Lopez.

“I was just trying to do my stuff like I do usually,” Pekovic said, via the Star Tribune. “Try to bump him, try to give him a hard time. Everybody knows I’m going to do that. That’s what I do. I can’t shoot threes, that’s for sure.”
