Kansas City Royals fans spotted snoozing through Game 1 of World Series (photos)

The immensely devoted, undyingly loyal and incredibly patient fans of the Kansas City Royals have waited 29 long years for their beloved team to make another appearance in the World Series.

So, what did a smattering of Royals fans do once the magical moment finally arrived? Take a nap in the ballpark, of course.

Fans were spotted all over Kauffman Stadium sneaking in a snooze during Game 1 of the World Series on Tuesday night.

While it is fair to note that the Royals didn’t give the hometown fans much to cheer about during the 7-1 loss to the San Francisco Giants — going down 3-0 in the first, 5-0 in the fourth and 7-0 in top of the 7th before notching a run in the bottom-half of the same inning (although the team had its fair share of chances to mount a rally on a few occasions during the game), to actually be in the ballpark amid the electricity, the hype, the anticipation and somehow fall asleep? Not good.

This isn’t the first time a Royals fan has been spotted sleeping during a big game this postseason, either. Here’s a guy who somehow fell asleep during the bottom of the 12th inning during the Royals eventual Wild Card win a few weeks back.

Ouch. There’s a moment he’ll never get a chance to re-live. Talk about sleeping through history, man.

But have no fear, napping Royals fans. This narcoleptic Yankees fan feels your pain.
