Katy Perry storms field after Ole Miss win with Rebels forward Anthony Perez (video)

Katy Perry was of course the celebrity guest picker on ESPN’s “College GameDay” Saturday, and while her day on the University of Mississippi campus was eventful (more on that later), it’s interesting to note that the pop siren actually took part when the rabid Ole Miss fans stormed the Vaught–Hemingway Stadium field after the Ole Miss Rebels upset the Alabama Crimson Tide by a score of 23-17.

Anthony Perez, a 6-foot-10 junior for the Ole Miss men’s basketball team, chronicled his experiences while rushing the field and posted a video to Instagram.

This how I turn up after beating Alabama lol…

Later, he posted another video of the raucous scene, and who else but Katy Perry can be seen joining in the celebratory fray.

Good thing Perry didn’t get too close to Crimson Tide football czar Nick Saban … for now-obvious reasons.

And this was only the half of Perry’s good-time-having on Saturday. The pop star was at her best — or worst, depending on one’s point of view — during her segment on “College GameDay.”

She later straddled the Ole Miss bear while hugging the mascot on the field (via SB Nation):

And then, after taking part in the storming of the field, Perry, still wearing her Ole Miss visor, pounded a beer before diving into a crowd at some random drinking establishment.

Yowsers. It’s safe to say that Perry had quite the Katy Perry-kind-of-good time. And thankfully, Perez managed to document one part of it.
