Devon Still provides encouraging update regarding daughter’s cancer surgery (pics)

Devon Still took to social media on Thursday night to share some pretty encouraging news regarding the surgery his daughter Leah had undergone earlier in the day in relation to her cancer treatments.

After a nearly six-hour surgery, Still provided an update as to how little Leah’s surgery had gone.

“After a 5hr 50min surgery the surgeon was able to remove ALL of her tumor and all of her lymph nodes and her right adrenal gland where it all started from,” Still wrote on Instagram. “…best news I’ve received in a long time.”

Still attached the above message to a photo of Leah resting following the procedure.

Still later posted another photograph of him bunking up with Leah in her room.

“Oh how I’ve missed these metal cots,” Still notes.

Earlier on Thursday, Still posted a video of he and Leah in his car en route to the hospital where he records himself giving his four-year-old daughter a heartwarming pep talk.

Leah was diagnosed with Stage 4 neuroblastoma back in June. The original prognosis was not good, as doctors gave Leah a 50-50 chance of survival.

But Leah has battled onward, with this last step a positive one, though Still cautioned that despite the outcome of the surgery being encouraging, she is nowhere near to being out of the woods just yet.

Leah reportedly will next undergo another round of treatments, including chemotherapy, radiation and stem cell transplants with the goal of regenerating her bone marrow and stem cells.

The support Still, Leah and their family have received from the Bengals, fans and others has been tremendous, . But it will continue to be a hard battle and it remains a tough road ahead for brave little Leah. But her daddy will be right there with her every step of the way.
