Rory McIlroy scares the ever-living crap out of sleeping caddie JP Fitzgerald (video)

Rory McIlroy experienced some very minor struggles  — at least for him — during his final round at the Deutsche Bank Championship on Monday, carding a 70, a score that nevertheless was good enough for a tie for 5th. Given the torrid streak he has been on of late on the course, odds are Rory was somewhat disappointed by his round.

Despite coming up short in his attempt at securing a fourth win in five tournaments, McIlroy nevertheless remained in a lighthearted mood following his day on the course during a private flight out of Massachusetts on Monday evening. So much so that he couldn’t help himself when he noticed that his caddie, JP Fitzgerald, had fallen asleep in the seat next to him.

McIlroy then leaned over and shook the snoozing Fitzgerald, scaring the bejesus out of the caddie.

The look on Fitzgerald’s face is priceless.

But here’s the question: Why is McIlroy still wearing the same clothes he wore during his final round? Odds are the private jet would have waited a few extra minutes so Rory could have sneaked in a shower before leaving the clubhouse, right?

In any event, it’s easy for McIlroy to feel good about pretty much everything going on in his life right now and while exuding an exceedingly loosey-goosey disposition. Winning practically every tournament he enters, coinciding with his ascension to becoming the undisputed best golfer in the world, along with reportedly having his pick and choosing of attractive Irish lasses (here and here), can have that effect on a person.

The only thing missing from that video were some celebratory Jagerbombs.
