Michelle Wie posts time-lapse vids that show she’s a pretty talented artist (videos)
Michelle Wie may be finally coming into her own on the golf course courtesy of her U.S. Women’s Open victory a few months back — something that inspired some good-time celebrations afterward.
But that does not mean the 24-year-old prodigy-turned-superstar lacks interests outside the game and off the golf course. In fact, Wie appears to be an aspiring artist of sorts.
And if the time-lapse videos Wie posted to Instagram over the past few days are any indication, she actually has some artistic talent to boot.
“Decided to film myself painting today using my brand new @GOPRO,” she writes. “Super stoked to show you guys this timelapse vid.”
Skulls and skeletons seem to be her primary motif, as evidenced in the two paintings she showcased online.
Not too shabby.
Perhaps to allay any concerns of her fans that she is not remaining focused on her golf game on the heels of her career-making victory at Pinehurst No. 2 in June, Wie also posted a video of her practicing her putting stroke on the green.
See? She’s got it all going on. It’s arguably for the best that Wie partakes in activities outside of golf. Burnout is an all-too-common condition among professional golfers. Devoting countless hour refining one’s game can sometimes actually have an adverse effect on a player. And in Wie’s case, she has many, many years left in her career to practice. And win.
