Artist creates stunning, lifelike portraits of Colin Kaepernick, Johnny Manziel (pics/vids)

Heather Rooney bills herself as an art student, but there is little about the stunning, amazingly lifelike portraits she has been producing of some pretty prevalent superstars from the world of sport of late that indicates she has much left to learn about the whole art game.

Her most recent piece showcasing her drawing mastery is a portrait of San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

As you can see, it would be easy for someone to assume this incredibly realistic depiction of the Niners signal-caller is a photograph, but that’s where Rooney showcases her remarkable talent by posting time-lapse videos to YouTube and her various social media accounts that demonstrate every impressive detail is done by with the deft touch of her own hand and colored pencils.

Crazy. Rooney posted a work in progress pic showing Kaepernick’s portrait at various stages.

Rooney last week set her artistic eye on Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel, and the results were just as outstanding and hyper-realistic.

She again posted a time-lapse video of the process behind the portrait…

As well as an Instgram pic of the piece in progress:

Man, to be able to draw like that? What a gift.

Rooney first attracted the eyes of sports fans earlier this month with a similarly impressive portrait of LeBron James. Be sure to check out her Instagram and YouTube pages to take a look-see at it as well as some of her other stunning pieces. A truly remarkable talent.
