Justin Verlander gives Kate Upton baseball, she gives pitcher goo-goo eyes (video)
The relationship between Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander and supermodel Kate Upton is going so strong at the moment that there has been yet another interaction between the two that abundantly demonstrates that their romance, after all this time, remains at sweetly saccharine levels.
Last week, Upton and Verlander had an adorable exchange on Instagram where the 22-year-old bombshell pleaded with her 31-year-old beau for a puppy on Instagram, to which Verlander replied in a cutesy manner.
The two took their displays of puppy love out in public on Monday night to Yankee Stadium, where the Tigers were facing the Yankees in the first game of a four-game series.
Upton was seated behind the Tigers dugout when Verlander, who was watching his teammate Max Scherzer give up only two-spot to the Yankees lineup but still come up on the wrong end in the boxscore in a 2-1 loss, noticed his girlfriend, who is known for taking in Tigers games in the past, seated right behind him.
After a brief chit-chat, Verlander tossed the ball to Upton, a gesture that caused her to fawn and smile before making a heart sign with her hands as the look on her face showed just how playfully touched she was by her boyfriend’s gesture.
Rumors of a possible romance between Upton and Verlander began to surface all the way back to the fall of 2012. There were a few bumps in the road and some denials about the relationship from Upton as well as Verlander, and then it looked like the romance just fizzled out after the supermodel appeared to take a shot at Verlander on Twitter.
The out of nowhere, the two were spotted at a Philadelphia Flyers game in January 2014 and despite some indications otherwise, it looked like the two were at long last back together.
Given that the two have been on-and-off for coming up on two years now, it’s refreshing to see that there remains a spark of flirtation and the sense of newness in their relationship, as demonstrated by the lovey-dovey display of mutual affection on Monday night. The kids might call it adorbs. Or something. Even adorbs of the cray cray variety, if that kind of terminology is still considered hip lingo or whatever.
