Sergio Garcia holes out from 150 yards for eagle at British Open (video)

In case of history repeating itself — more on that later — Sergio Garcia holed out for an eagle-2 from 150 yards out during second round play at the British Open on Friday at Liverpool.

Garcia’s phenomenal shot came on the second hole, and he needed some good fortune to get his round headed back in the right direction after spraying his tee shot on No. 1 so far left it landed in the fairway on the 18th hole.

He managed to eke out a bogey after his monumental yank on No. 1, dropping him to 3-under for the tourney.

His tee shot on the 2nd hole found the first cut of rough, but some good fortune left him with a pretty decent lie. With a wedge in hand, Garcia hit a towering beauty of an approach shot into the green which rolled straight into the cup, a shot that elicited a smile from Garcia as he raised his arms in celebration.

Regarding the mention above of how history had repeated itself with Garcia’s hole-out from way out, he also carded an eagle-2 on the 2nd hole back in 2006, the last time The Open Championship was at Royal Liverpool, only that time it was in the third round and it was from 167 yards out with a 9-iron in his hand.

Pretty crazy coincidence.
