LeBron James posts footage of moron invading pitch during World Cup Final (video)

Not only is LeBron James the greatest basketball player on the planet and the arguably the biggest story currently in American sports, he also is the go-to guy to provide video documentation at some buffoonery that occurred during the only global sporting event that made his “Decision Part 2: Electric Boogaloo” seem like practically a non-story.

King James of course announced last Friday that he was “coming home” and returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers next season, but he — wisely — wasn’t even in the United States and didn’t have to deal with the fanfare and overall craziness that occurred in the aftermath of his monumental announcement. Instead, LeBron was in Brazil to take in the World Cup Final between Germany and Argentina as a guest of FIFA.

While seated in the stands and taking in the match, a cretinous fan stormed the pitch. James managed to capture the footage of the idiot and posted the video to Instagram.

Following his antics that turned him into an embarrassing sideshow, the man revealed his identity on social media. It turns out the guy is something of an Internet celebrity. His name is Vitaly Zdorovetskiy, and he boasts over 146,000 followers on Twitter, more than 1.2 million Facebook likes and has over 6 million subscribers on YouTube.

Zdorovetskiy took to Twitter to profess his thrill at being a ridiculous distraction in an otherwise thrilling match.

Good for him. While he may be famous on the interwebs, it’s arguable that he’s famous for all the wrong reasons. “Look at me! I make a name for myself by acting like an idiot!” Whoop-de-freaking-doo, right? But hey, at least he caught LeBron’s attention. That’s something.
