Twins players shake heads like bobbleheads in disturbing commercial (video)

The Minnesota Twins organization have developed a great reputation for coming up with creative, offbeat and quirky commercials over the years that have raised the bar for MLB teams when it comes to putting out immensely entertaining promotional spots (see here and here and here for a primer).

The team’s most recent commercial promoting a bobblehead giveaway coming up on July 5 that celebrates current hitting coach Tom Brunansky’s 1985 All-Star Game appearance, while remaining an amusing promo, veers into slightly disturbing territory.

Watch as Twins players, including Kurt Suzuki, Glen Perkins, Oswaldo Arcia, among others — as well at mascot T.C. Bear — wiggle and shake and bobble their digitally enlarged heads courtesy of some crafty video editing.

Man, that’s … kinda disturbing. But still great. As far as bobblehead commercials from the Twins are concerned, it’s not too shabby, although comes nowhere close to the excellence that was the Josh Willingham bobblehead home run spot from last season.

That’s a tough one to top, that’s for sure.
