Brandon Barnes caps inside-the-park home run with dugout pushups (video)
Most regular folks — crap most major league baseball players who aren’t known for being the epitome of physical fitness — likely would be able to pull off the remarkable feat Colorado Rockies outfielder Brandon Barnes was able to do following his inside-the-park home run during Thursday’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Once Barnes returned to the dugout after scooting around the bases at breakneck speed, he had enough left in the tank to celebrate his unconventional round-tripper with some pushups, with a little help from a teammate’s foot.
Now that’s impressive. To put it in its proper perspective — in a self-deprecating manner — I’m unsure as to whether or not I’d be able to do the pushups. And I probably couldn’t run around the bases without a break at second base to catch my breath, for that matter. Yeah, it’s sad, but it be true.(GIF via The Big Lead)
