Tom Brady, Gisele Bundchen officially sell California estate to Dr. Dre (photos)

Hip hop icon and entertainment/business mogul Dr. Dre officially has become the owner of the Brentwood estate previously inhabited by New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and his supermodel wife, Gisele Bundchen, according to a report in the Los Angeles Times.

The sale was first reported last month but it looks like all the I’s have been dotted and all the T’s have been crossed. The real estate transaction set Dr. Dre back a reported $40 million, a significant amount lower than the original asking price of $50 million when the palatial estate was first listed two months prior to Dr. Dre putting up an offer.

The home, along with secondary buildings, sits on a four-acre estate in Brentwood, Calif. Brady originally purchased the property in 2008 for $11.75 million and he and Bundchen spent four years building the home, which was designed by architect Richard Landry. Construction was completed in early 2013.

Some details signifying and illustrating how the upper crust live, via the Times report:

Clad in limestone, the house features reclaimed ceiling beams, salvaged tile and antique doors. The 18,298 square feet of living space includes a center hall, a den, a library/study, a gym, a sauna, five bedrooms, nine bathrooms, loggias, covered terraces, balconies and garage space. There are seven fireplaces.

The grounds, irrigated by a gray-water system, include expanses of lawn, gardens, waterfalls, ponds, an infinity pool and pathways. Electricity is supplied by solar panels.

Sounds grand. In case you’re worried about the dent in the pocketbook Dre suffered purchasing the property, do not worry. Already a multi-multi-millionaire many times over, Apple recently announced that it had acquired Dr. Dre’s Beats Music and Beats Electronics for a reported $3 billion.

So yeah, he’s doing alright.

You know that thing about Dr. Dre doing alright? Same can be said about Tommy Boy and Gisele, as the couple and their brood intend to live full-time on the East Coast in a mansion currently being built in Brookline, Mass. Construction is expected to be completed this summer. Oh, and the power couple have properties all over the world in some of the most fabulous places on the planet, so, yeah, again, they’re doing alright.
