Hawks delete tweet of Lance Stephenson blowing out Al Horford’s b-day cake (pic)

The Internet went completely meme-crazy in the aftermath of Lance Stephenson blowing in LeBron James’ ear during Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals last week, and one NBA team decided to use some silly Photoshop work to hop on and utilize the hilarity.

Tuesday marked Al Horford’s 28th birthday so the Atlanta Hawks used a Photoshopped image of Stephenson doing his blowing bit to snuff-out the candles on the center’s birthday cake.

Good stuff. Like the old saying goes, there is no such thing as overusing a meme, even one week later. Actually, that’s not a saying at all. And further, it’s highly inaccurate. Nevertheless, the Hawks deserve props for putting this meme to bed.

Sadly, the tweet was shuffled off this social media coil for some reason or another, as the Hawks elected to have the tweet removed from the team’s official Twitter account’s timeline, but the image contained in the offending tweet is above. The message read, “Retweet to join us in wishing Al Horford a Happy Birthday today!”

Seems like a bit rash of a reaction to delete the tweet, but there you go.
