Austin Jackson stupefied by Miguel Cabrera’s clutch 3-run homer (video)

To say that Austin Jackson was blown away by the ability of teammate Miguel Cabrera to come through in the clutch would be a drastic understatement, as the Detroit Tigers outfielder’s priceless reaction to Miggy’s three-run bomb in the ninth inning to lead the team to a 4-1 win over the Baltimore Orioles really says it all.

As Cabrera took a seat in the dugout after his round-tripper led the way as the Tigers put a four-spot up in the top of 9th in the comeback win, Jackson sat nearby, utterly at a loss at his teammate’s heroics. A surprised instance of stunned stupor.

Jackson, completely in awe of Cabrera, just sat there, staring in stupefied wonder. As should we, given it was Cabrera’s thirteenth go-ahead home run in the ninth inning or later in his career.

“Each time,” Jackson said after the game, via “In that situation, it definitely does. That’s not easy to do anytime, but especially in a clutch, clutch situation.”

Cabrera, meanwhile, was nonchalant about his ability to once again come through in the clutch.

“It’s a chance to win or lose. You don’t want to think too much of it and be afraid to fail,” he said. “You have to go out there and try, see what happens.”

And that’s exactly what he did. Classic.
