LeBron James scores 49 points in Heat win, visits with Jay-Z and Beyonce (videos)

LeBron James enjoyed an eventful and successful evening at Barclays Center on Monday as the Miami Heat beat the Brooklyn Nets by a score of 102-96 to take a 3-1 stranglehold in the teams’ Eastern Conference semifinal series.

Not only did LeBron drop a huge 49 points on the Nets, he also enjoyed the company of some big-time A-listers in the process.

During the second quarter of a then-tight game, James, showing just how loose he was despite the situation, took a moment to engage in a brief conversation with Jay-Z and Beyonce, who were of course seated courtside.

I wonder what recently newsworthy topic the three could have possibly been discussing … nah, right?

To follow up his interaction with the megastars, LeBron made a steal and threw down a dunk on the subsequent play.

Pretty impressive.

LeBron could have scored 50 but missed a free throw with 1.1 seconds remaining in the the game:

Aw, shucks. Somehow, odds are James will get over missing out on the 50-point mark and instead simply be happy that the Heat appear well on their way to the Eastern Conference Finals. Although the Nets likely hope they have something to say about that before it is all said and done.

Maybe the Nets should bring in Solange Knowles in for a motivational talk about how to refuse to quit and instead, if you’re going to go down, do so kicking and screaming … and kicking some more …  in light of Jay-Z’s direct affiliation with the team, again, yeah, probably not.
