That’s … weird: Yasiel Puig, Hyun-Jin Ryu engage in dugout tickle fight (video)
Before the Los Angeles Dodgers squared off against the rival Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday, teammates Yasiel Puig and Hyun-Jin Ryu tried to keep the mood loosey-goosey in the dugout by engaging in a tickle fight, of all things.
It’s rare to see two grown ass men tickle each other, but I suppose that’s what makes the sight so amusing. And just a wee bit strange.
For the record, the Dodgers, perhaps loosened up by the antics of Puig and Ryu, prevailed, beating the D-Backs by a score of 8-6. At the same time, while Ryu wasn’t slated to start on Sunday, Puig’s dugout tomfoolery did not translate to success at the plate, as the young superstar went 1-4, striking out three times.
But hey, at least taking part in a tickle fight isn’t as embarrassing as wearing pink shorts, right? Even better, Puig must have made it to the ballpark on time, as he played in the game and wasn’t benched by manager Don Mattingly like he was when he showed up late to the stadium a couple of weeks ago. That’s good.
